The picture above is of the stage setup for my last performance December 16, 2016, sharing the stage with a very talented and fun group called A Pairs 3. That was my last show of 2016, and I enjoyed having a bit of a vacation from music, but was hoping to have something scheduled in January 2017.
I was offered an early morning performance by London Arts Council for 8:30 to 9:30am for mid January, but my day job prevented me taking that gig slot. I hate turning down music work, but it has to work with your schedule!
That was the only offering in January, which had me pretty bummed. But, London Arts Council came through with another offer for Heart-Links Fundraiser February 9th. Although it was supposed to be a 20min time slot, I was doing cart wheels in enthusiasm for a chance to perform again!
The fundraiser was held at Innovation Works building, downtown London Ontario, and the people organizing the event were wonderful! Though i was only to play 20min, I continued after they held a speech on the needs of their Heart-Links organization, and played another 5 songs.
I received a lot of praise for my acoustic instrumentals, and Heart-Links were very impressed by my abilities! I hope this will set the tone for 2017, and look forward to more opportunities!
At the moment, I am working on a gig along side A Pairs 3 again for March 4th at the Fireside Bar and Grill; but, when i confirmed the date with the owner, he had double booked the day. Which happens from time to time unfortunately, and asked to switch to a later date mid March. A Pairs 3 and I were receptive to the date change, but told the owner that there were out of town attendee coming and arrangements already set for the 4th. The owner said he will try to move the other artist booked, and get back to me. Hopefully, he is successful!
